Pediatric dentistry

Pediatric Dentistry (paedodontics) deals with the monitoring of growth and development of the oral cavity and jaws in children, as well as caries prevention and rehabilitation.

The greatest emphasis is on prevention, because at that age it is important to develop hygienic habits. An important role in this is visiting the dentist, which should be enjoyable and fun for the child.

Check-ups of children are carried out immediately after the eruption of primary teeth, and by using this approach we can notice any possible changes on time in the earliest stage, and advise the parents about the importance of preventive measures in maintaining oral health, which includes:

– Proper brushing of teeth and the choice of a brush and a toothpaste
– Proper nutrition and elimination of bad habits
– The importance of maintaining healthy deciduous teeth
– Education on the bottle caries
– Professional fluoridation
– Early detection of orthodontic anomalies, which can be completely solved only in childhood
– Sealing and protecting the tooth

Preventive procedures such as glazing teeth with fluoride varnish and fissure sealants on permanent teeth, which we carry out in our office, are completely painless. Regular visits to the dentist should ensure healthy teeth in children all through adolescence.
